Shortly after the foundation of the High Church of Our Lady ( St. James),began the construction of the Lower church of the same consecration by the wall work of the town, where was also a possibility to found a cemetery in a larger area. This church was similar to the model of the St. James church in many aspects in the past, but instead of the western double-tower there was founded only one dominant tower, which included the main entrance to the church on the ground floor, astronomical clock and a rich roofing simile to that of the close Caslavska gate. A part of the nave and tower roofing the form of the durch hasn´t changed for hundreds of years.

In our archive you shouldn´t miss the photography taken by Andreas Groll, who took the pictures of the pulpit inside of the church, which is exceptional by the lightening possibilities of those times.
