Most of the fountains in Kutna Hora have been made of wood until the 19th century and from time to time they were repaired or replaced and often the location of the fountain was changed as well. Also for these reasons has the Stone fountain a great significance for the local community of that time. It was built in 1493-1495 as has also served as a water reservoir for the Down. According to the old descriptions t has a parapet and a high hexagonal roof. Although this original roofing was not restored during the reconstruction carried out by the architect Ludvík Lábler, most of the dammaged stone decoration has been replaced by respective copies.
